April 12, 2002, Newsletter Issue #43: Doily in Two Hours

Tip of the Week

Love the look of lace doilies, but don’t have time to complete one? Try using a worsted weight yarn or a heavy cotton thread with a Lace Doily Block. When you use an H hook, blocks can be 4 times larger with the larger yarns than with the small cotton threads. This way you can crochet one block, but have an average sized doily when completed. Also, they don’t take near as much time; I can usually crochet a block that extends to 18” in about the time it takes to watch a video.
